Yes, it has to do with those red leather pants.

Things are getting pretty bizarre onSuperman & Lois(sorry, we had to).

But as Clark soon finds out, the parallel universe is nothing like his own.

For one thing, his son Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) is rocking red leather pants.

Superman, we’re definitely not inyourKansas anymore.

“I was like, ‘What the hell is this?’

I was just baffled.

And once I actually read the script, it started to click pretty quickly.

And by the end of the episode, I was definitely into it.

But it took me a little while to get used to that hair and that outfit and everything.

That was funky.”

Jon El’s fashion isn’t a personal style choice, either.

“It’s so cool.

I remember reading the scripts and just being like, ‘How are we going to do this?’

This is a massive episode, a ton of action, a ton of stuff going on.

There’s a lot of bases that have to be covered here.

I remember reading it and just being like, ‘Wow, this is going to be intense.'”

Upping the stakes is the fact that Jon El has his own superhero origin story happening on Bizarro Earth.

That’s right on this Earth, Jon is the son with powers!

Warning: These aren’t the warm and fuzzy Kents we’re used to seeing.

“It’s a hell of a workout, I’ll tell you that,” he says.

“Being up on the wires and stuff, it’s a lot of core.

I had to be doing chin-ups.

Those [harnesses] are not easy.”

Superman & Loisairs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CW.
