And Patel is, understandably, upset about the lack of distinction.
He is, in fact, thefirst South Asian filmmaker to winthat particular award.

“So I’m angry.
Angry at Will Smith.
Angry at Chris Rock.
Angry for my fellow filmmakers,” Patel went on to say.
