Though their marriage was reportedly tumultuous at times, the couple remained married for nearly 74 years.
He remained in the hospital for 28 days for observation and rest.
His illness was not believed to be related to COVID-19.

At 99, Prince Philip was the oldest ever male member of the British royal family.
