The music video finds Nas in a purple-drenched Garden of Eden as he’s seduced by a futuristic snake.

The songwas produced by Take a DayTrip, Omer Fedi, and Roy Lenzo.

Nas opened up about the release of “Montero” with a personal message to his fans.

He dedicated the song to his childhood self (Nas' birth name is Montero Lamar Hill).

In the note, Nas looked back on the mental trials ofcoming out as gayat an early age.

“Dear 14-year-old Montero, I wrote a song with our name in it.

It’s about a guy I met last summer.

But the truth is, I am.

Sending you love from the future.”

This is Nas’s first single since last year’s winter bop “Holiday.”
