The Marvel Studios president now says the Ancient One controversy was “a wake-up call.”
But now, in a new interview withMen’s Health, Feige admits that Marvel made a mistake.
“We thought we were being so smart and so cutting-edge,” Feige told the magazine.

“We’re not going to do the cliche of the wizened old wise Asian man.
Is there any other way to both not fall into the cliche and cast an Asian actor?'
And the answer to that, of course, is yes.”
Chinese Canadian actorSimu Liuplays the hero Shang-Chi, and the film will hit theaters Sept. 3.
