“I remember being just stunned and feeling like, ‘How is that possible?

How are there no consequences for that?’

The scariest part is that it could happen again, and your vote could be suppressed this year.

“It is an urgent concern.

“There are many states where you’re able to register on Election Day.

So you could go and register and vote on the same day.

And here is a way that you’ve got the option to rectify it.”

Ultimately, Messing says voting rights is an issue that everyone, regardless of party, should champion.

“We shouldn’t have to wait in line for hours on end so you can vote.

And in this day and age, we can get a lot of things done that are very complicated.

And this seems like we should be able to do better.”

And that’s why people don’t want you to vote, because it is power.”
