Questions still abound afterWill Smithwalked up on theAcademy Awardsstage Monday night and slappedChris Rockon national television Sunday night.
That’s according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department obtained byPEOPLE.
“The incident involved one individual slapping another.

The individual involved has declined to file a police report.
While presenting Best Documentary Feature, Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife,Jada Pinkett Smith.
“Jada, I love you.G.I.
Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” he quipped.
Smith, however, promptlywalked up on stage and slapped Rock in the face.
“Art imitates life,” Smith said, in part.
“I look like the crazy father, just like they said.
I’m the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams.
But love will make you do crazy things.”
He apologized to his fellow actors and to the Academy, but, again, did not mention Rock.
“I want to be a vessel for love.”
