While theyve all been welcomed with varying degrees of fanfare, theyve also done very little to diversify TV.
With the exception ofCharmed(bravo!)
and a smattering of characters on other shows, theyre all still predominantly white.

When EW reunited the cast ofFamily Mattersin 2017, theydidnt shy away from the idea.
But theres one show in particular that could lead the charge:Living Single.
Why should the classic black comedy be part of this growing trend of revivals/reboots?
Here are three reasons:
1.
Living Singlefeatured fat/plus-size representation without trying too hard.
And it gets far worse if youre looking for fat representation that is not white.
Which is why aLiving Singlerevival would be so appropriate in this day and age.
Fat representation on television is in distress and who better than Khadijah to come and save it?
Living Singlewas a welcome exploration of the varying friendships between (professional) black women.
Television still thinks New York is ostensibly white.
AllegedLiving Singlerip-offFriendswas constantly blasted for this.
AndSex and the City.
AndGirls.Broad Citywas a noticeable improvement, as were Marvel shows likeLuke CageandDaredevil.
But all of those shows are, of course, no longer on air.
Which is why aLiving Singlerevival is all the more interesting.
I mean, the shows central premise revolved around Khadijah and her crew including Kyle Barker (T.C.
How would Khadijah and company react and adapt?
The possibilities for this revival are endless.
